Dr. Nicolas Abboud, is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon based in Brussels, Belgium, where he practices at Delta Hospital.
Dr. Abboud is the co-author of the PALLL technique, a pioneering approach to scarless breast surgery developed in collaboration with his father and colleague, Dr. Marwan Abboud. This innovative technique offers an alternative in modern breast surgery, offering patients scar-free solutions across a wide spectrum of indications, including the correction of tuberous breast deformities, oncological breast reconstruction, breast augmentation and reduction, as well as breast remodeling following implant removal.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Abboud is committed to advancing surgical education on an international level. medicine, and wound healing. Prof. Bassetto is President-Elect of the Italian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SICPRE) for 2026-2027 and holds memberships in numerous international professional societies. He directs the university’s Master’s Program in Aesthetic Surgery and Residency Program in Plastic Surgery. Since 2008, he has conducted regular humanitarian missions, establishing a Plastic Surgery Unit at North Kinagopo Catholic Hospital and developing training programs for local healthcare professionals.

Richard C. Baynosa, MD FACS, is a distinguished Tenured Professor and the Founding Chair of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, specializing in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. He is also the Chair of the Department of Surgery at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, the region’s only Level 1 trauma center and burn center, as well as serving as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mountain View Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Baynosa’s practice is renowned for its comprehensive approach, particularly in advanced aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including DIEP and perforator free flaps as well as a wide range of cosmetic breast procedures, from augmentation to revision surgery. He has been instrumental in bringing DIEP free flap breast reconstruction to Nevada, training or recruiting all plastic surgeons in Las Vegas who currently perform it.
Dr. Baynosa’s expertise extends to robotic surgery techniques in pelvic reconstruction, where he is internationally recognized as a pioneer. He has performed more Robotic Rectus Abdominis Muscle (RRAM) flaps than anyone globally, with his work published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Journal of Clinical Medicine. He has also been recognized as an innovator and leader in utilizing acellular dermal matrices, fat grafting, and neurotization in breast reconstruction and has participated in several clinical trials and studies in these areas as well as giving invited lectures around the world on these topics. A graduate of UCSD School of Medicine, he completed his residency in plastic surgery and fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He further honed his skills with a fellowship in Perforator Flaps and Super-microsurgery at the University Hospital of Ghent in Belgium under the guidance of Dr. Phillip Blondeel and Dr. Moustapha Hamdi. Dr. Baynosa’s practice also specializes in immediate oncoplastic and post-mastectomy breast reconstruction as well as patients with previous breast reconstruction failures due to radiation or infection, often collaborating with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Baynosa, a Professor of Surgical Breast Oncology at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. He actively participates in numerous regional and national committees including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. He has served as a Founding Board Member and Past-President of the Mountain West Society of Plastic Surgeons and currently serves as the Chief Medical Editor of Plastic Surgery News, Editor in Chief of the ASPS Education Network, Chair of the ASPS Finance and Investments Committee, and was recently appointed as an ASPS Education Governor of the Breast Section.

Giorgio Berna, MD is Director of the Complex Operative Unit of Plastic Surgery at ULSS 2 Treviso, Italy, a position he has held since 2015. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua in 1989 and completed his specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Parma in 1994. He has been practicing at the Regional Hospital of Treviso since 1993.
Dr. Berna’s clinical expertise focuses on breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery, as well as post-oncologic and post-traumatic reconstruction. In 2012, he performed the first prepectoral breast reconstruction with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) in his institution. He is a Board Member of the Italian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, Regenerative and Aesthetic Surgery (SICPRE) and author of several scientific publications.

Beniamino Brunetti MD PhD is Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and Head of the Microsurgery Team at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.
He has published more than 100 peer review articles and book chapters in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, being frequently involved as invited speaker at national/international meetings and serving as a reviewer for several journals in Plastic Surgery.
In view of his academic efforts, Dr Brunetti received the EURAPS Young Plastic Surgeons Scholarship in 2014 and won the EURAPS Hans Anderl Award and the EURAPS Best Paper in 2023.
His main interests are represented by microsurgical reconstruction (microsurgical sarcoma reconstruction, microsurgical breast reconstruction; microsurgical head and neck reconstruction, microsurgical lower limb reconstruction), flaps physiology, perforator flaps, propeller flaps, free style flaps and aesthetic surgery of breast, face and body.

Prof. Valerio Cervelli, MD is Full Professor of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Director of the Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’. He directs the Complex Operative Unit of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Policlinico Tor Vergata and previously led the same unit at Policlinico Casilino in Rome. He also coordinates the PhD Program in Regenerative Plastic Surgery and advanced Master’s programs in rhinoplasty and regenerative treatment of complex wounds.
His clinical and scientific focus includes oncologic breast and thoraco-abdominal reconstruction, craniofacial and nasal surgery, orthognathic techniques, and regenerative approaches using autologous adipose tissue, stem cells, and growth factors. Professor Cervelli is the author of over 300 scientific publications, Principal Investigator of pioneering research on fat grafting, and holder of the registered trademark P.R.L. (Platelet Rich Lipotransfer). An internationally recognized leader, he has presided over numerous editions of major regenerative and rhinoplasty conferences, contributing significantly to the advancement of plastic and regenerative surgery.

Mark W. Clemens, MD, is a tenured professor of plastic surgery and the Associate Vice President of Perioperative Services for MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas in Houston. He completed plastic surgical training at Georgetown University, research fellowships at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Harvard Children’s Hospital, a microsurgery fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and a master’s degree of business from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Business.
Dr. Clemens’ research interests include breast implant associated ALCL, as well as robotic-assisted, microvascular, and prosthetic reconstructive surgery of the breast. Dr. Clemens has lectured in over 30 countries and written more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and 50 book chapters. He is the breast section editor and on the editorial board of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He is an author for National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines on Lymphoma and an invited content expert on breast implant safety for the US FDA and the European Commission. He was a member of the surgical team that performed the world’s first skull and scalp transplant. Dr. Clemens cofounded the annual World Consensus Conference on BIA-ALCL which meets with the International Breast Surgery Workshop, and now in its 11th year, has had over 20,000 attendees to date. He is the published author of Complications in Reconstructive Surgery from Springer Publishing as well as Phoenix Rising Empower and Transform Through Breast Reconstruction which, upon release, topped Amazon charts across breast cancer.

With her international background, she fosters collaboration with plastic surgeons worldwide, aiming to advance international teamwork in the creative nature of plastic surgery. As a female Plastic Surgeon, outside of work she finds joy spending time with her family.

Arianna Di Napoli, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Pathology at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome, where she has been qualified as Full Professor in Pathology (ANVUR). A board-certified pathologist with a PhD in Immunology, she completed research training in molecular pathology at Harvard Medical School.
Professor Di Napoli is an expert hematopathologist whose research focuses on the molecular pathogenesis of lymphomas. She contributed to the recognition of breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) as a distinct clinicopathologic entity and is co-author of the related chapters in the WHO Classification of Haematolymphoid Tumours and the International Consensus Classification of Lymphomas.
She has authored 138 peer-reviewed publications (h-index 33, Scopus) and is an invited speaker at numerous international conferences. Since 2024, she has coordinated the Pathology Group of the Italian Lymphoma Foundation and serves as expert consultant to the Italian Ministry of Health on BIA-ALCL, playing an active role in national and international research and clinical initiatives in hematopathology.

Åsa Edsander‑Nord is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery at Karolinska University Hospital and an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Karolinska Institute. Edsander‑Nord has played a central role in specialist training in Sweden for more than two decades. Since 2004, she has served as the Resident Programme Director in Plastic Surgery, where she has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum, mentoring trainees, and strengthening the academic foundation of the specialty. She is also a respected educator at the Karolinska Institute, known for her engaging teaching style and her commitment to high‑quality instruction for both medical students and residents. Her reputation as an educator extends beyond Sweden, and she is frequently invited to teach and lecture internationally.
Her clinical work focuses primarily on reconstructive procedures, with particular expertise in breast reconstruction and ear reconstruction. Through her work at Karolinska University Hospital, she has contributed to advancing surgical techniques and improving outcomes for patients requiring complex reconstructive care.
Edsander‑Nord is actively involved in the international plastic surgery community. She is now serving as President of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) for the 2025–2026 term, a role that reflects her longstanding commitment to professional development, scientific exchange, and cross‑border collaboration within the specialty.

Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo was born in Naples, currently he is Full Professor and holds the Chair of Plastic Surgery at Sapienza, University of Rome, where he runs the university program for the Board in Plastic Surgery, and from 2003 is Head of Plastic Surgery Unit at Sant’Andrea Hospital.
He started his training on 1984 at University of Naples, and continued from 1987 to 1990 at University of Göteborg, Sweden, where he achieved Fellowships in “cleft lip and palate”, “craniofacial surgery”, “breast surgery” and “reconstructive microsurgery”. Since 1990 he achieved both the Italian and the Swedish Board in Plastic Surgery, and his main interest has been in Reconstructive Microsurgery, specially focusing on breast reconstruction with DIEP flap and Latissimus Dorsi flap, more than 2,000 procedures. The intense activity in this field led him to startand chair, since 2007 a University Master Course on Breast Reconstruction, at Sapienza University of Rome, and from 2009 a Fellowship on Clinical and Experimental Reconstructive Microsurgery at the Superior Institute of Health, Ministry of Health in Rome.
Over the last years, he has been focusing on the study of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, and Face Allotrasplantation in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Health. The commitment and contribution to the scientific research in plastic surgery brought national and international recognition, with the consequent appointment as Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, Honorary Member of the Serbian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of South Florida a Tampa, and Honorary member of the Swedish Association of Plastic Surgeons, Laurea Honoris Causa from University Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania. He hold the position as EURAPS General Secretary from 2015 to 2021, and President from 2023 to 2024.
His scientific effort produced 192 original papers and 37 book chapters.

Patrick B. Garvey, MD, MBA, is a Professor of Plastic Surgery and, as of February 2026, Chair of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is an internationally recognized reconstructive microsurgeon with more than 18 years of experience in complex head and neck reconstruction, breast reconstruction, advanced free flap surgery, nerve reconstruction, and the integration of virtual surgical planning technologies.
Dr. Garvey previously served on faculty at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he trained more than 150 microsurgery fellows and residents and developed a high-volume reconstructive practice focused on oncologic reconstruction. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and served as principal investigator on multiple national clinical trials, including the Mentor ATHENA study that supported FDA approval of larger-volume silicone implants for breast reconstruction.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Garvey is active in surgical education, healthcare policy, and innovation. He serves on national committees within the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and regularly collaborates with industry and academic partners to advance reconstructive techniques and surgical technology. He earned an Executive MBA from Rice University, complementing his clinical expertise with formal training in healthcare operations and strategy.

Prof Giuseppe Giudice is Full Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Bari Aldo Moro and Director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit and Severe Burns Center at Policlinico Hospitalin Bari.
For over 30 years, he has been involved in post-malformation, oncological, and traumatic reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, immediate single-stage breast reconstruction, post-bariatricsurgery, integrated treatment of patients withcleft lip and palate, integrated treatment of melanoma, hand surgery (carpal tunnel, Dupuytren’s disease), and surgical treatment of burn injuries.
For over 25 years, he has been performing cosmetic surgery, with particular reference to nasal deformities, breast deformities (hypo-and hypertrophy), lipodystrophy of the arms, thighs, andabdomen, eyelid deformities (blepharoplasty), andear deformities (otoplasty).

Dr. Marie Jaeger is a board-certified plastic surgeon trained in Germany and Israel. Togetherwith her team, she has performed over 1,000 ultrasound examinations for implant-related complications, includingseroma, rupture, and capsular contracture.
Dr. Jaeger leads the fellowship program at Victoriakliniken and is a sub-investigator in the 10year Motiva FDA study. He is co-founder of the ORBS (Oncoplastic Reconstructive Breast Surgery) meetings in Nottingham, running since 2008. This meeting is aimed at both Plastic and Breast surgeons, presenting the latest techniques and research in Oncoplastic surgery and been a major catalyst for expansion of oncoplastic techniques in the UK and beyond.

Dr. Nahabedian completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1995 and remained on the full-time faculty until 2005. He transitioned to Georgetown University in 2005 and remained there until 2017 where he was a Professor and the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Nahabedian has published over 240 scientific manuscripts, editorials, and discussions, as well as 107 book chapters that have focused primarily on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. He has been the principal or associate editor of 11 textbooks on breast and abdominal wall reconstruction and has been a visiting professor at over 100 hospitals and universities. Dr. Nahabedian is the current section editor for Aesthetic Breast Reconstruction for ASJ since 2023 and was the Breast Section Editor for PRS from 2009 –2017. Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo was born in Naples, currently he is Full Professor and holds the Chair of Plastic Surgery at Sapienza, University of Rome, where he runs the university program for the Board in Plastic Surgery, and from 2003 is Head of Plastic Surgery Unit at Sant’Andrea Hospital.
He started his training on 1984 at University of Naples, and continued from 1987 to 1990 at University of Göteborg, Sweden, where he achieved Fellowships in “cleft lip and palate”, “craniofacial surgery”, “breast surgery” and “reconstructive microsurgery”. Since 1990 he achieved both the Italian and the Swedish Board in Plastic Surgery, and his main interest has been in Reconstructive Microsurgery, specially focusing on breast reconstruction with DIEP flap and Latissimus Dorsi flap, more than 2,000 procedures. The intense activity in this field led him to startand chair, since 2007 a University Master Course on Breast Reconstruction, at Sapienza University of Rome, and from 2009 a Fellowship on Clinical and Experimental Reconstructive Microsurgery at the Superior Institute of Health, Ministry of Health in Rome.
Over the last years, he has been focusing on the study of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, and Face Allotrasplantation in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Health. The commitment and contribution to the scientific research in plastic surgery brought national and international recognition, with the consequent appointment as Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, Honorary Member of the Serbian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of South Florida a Tampa, and Honorary member of the Swedish Association of Plastic Surgeons, Laurea Honoris Causa from University Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania. He hold the position as EURAPS General Secretary from 2015 to 2021, and President from 2023 to 2024.

She obtained her medical degree and residency training from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, USA. She is an internationally recognized expert in microsurgery, including breast reconstruction and nerve repair techniques. She is the current Program Director of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship and is passionate about teaching and improving patient outcomes. In particular, her research focuses on quality of life issues after cancer reconstruction.

Prof. Corrado Rubino, MD is Full Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Department of Medical, Surgical and Experimental Sciences of the University of Sassari and Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit at the University Hospital Trust of Sassari. Since December 2025, he serves as Director of the Department of Surgery of the same institution. He is President of the Italian College of Professors of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Director of the Master’s Program in Management of Skin Lesions and Difficult Wounds.
Previously Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Delegate Vice-Rector for Medicine and Health, Professor Rubino has held numerous academic and clinical leadership roles, including Director of the School of Specialization in Plastic Surgery and Director of the Department of Onco-Hematology. He has also served as National Secretary of SICPRE and is a member of the Editorial Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
His research activity focuses on oncologic and breast reconstruction, complex wound management, skin cancer, microsurgery, and regenerative techniques. He has led multiple nationally funded research projects and is Principal Investigator of ongoing studies on molecular-genetic profiling of advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. An award-winning academic, Professor Rubino has received national recognition for scientific productivity and has contributed extensively to research, education, and international collaboration in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Prof. Fabio Santanelli di Pompeo was born in Naples, currently he is Full Professor and holds the Chair of Plastic Surgery at Sapienza, University of Rome, where he runs the university program for the Board in Plastic Surgery, and from 2003 is Head of Plastic Surgery Unit at Sant’Andrea Hospital.
He started his training on 1984 at University of Naples, and continued from 1987 to 1990 at University of Göteborg, Sweden, where he achieved Fellowships in “cleft lip and palate”, “craniofacial surgery”, “breast surgery” and “reconstructive microsurgery”. Since 1990 he achieved both the Italian and the Swedish Board in Plastic Surgery, and his main interest has been in Reconstructive Microsurgery, specially focusing on breast reconstruction with DIEP flap and Latissimus Dorsi flap, more than 2,000 procedures. The intense activity in this field led him to startand chair, since 2007 a University Master Course on Breast Reconstruction, at Sapienza University of Rome, and from 2009 a Fellowship on Clinical and Experimental Reconstructive Microsurgery at the Superior Institute of Health, Ministry of Health in Rome.
Over the last years, he has been focusing on the study of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, and Face Allotrasplantation in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Health. The commitment and contribution to the scientific research in plastic surgery brought national and international recognition, with the consequent appointment as Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, Honorary Member of the Serbian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Honorary Professorship in Plastic Surgery at University of South Florida a Tampa, and Honorary member of the Swedish Association of Plastic Surgeons, Laurea Honoris Causa from University Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania. He hold the position as EURAPS General Secretary from 2015 to 2021, and President from 2023 to 2024.

Dr Benjamin Sarfati is a French plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon. He practices at Gustave Roussy, Europe’s leading Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he focuses on breast oncologic surgery, complex reconstructions, and microsurgery. In parallel, he runs a private practice at the Hartmann Clinic in Paris, where he offers a full range of aesthetic surgical procedures and cosmetic medicine. Dr Sarfati has a particular interest in minimally invasive approaches. He was among the first surgeons to use the Da Vinci robotic systemfor breast surgery, pioneering techniques such as robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy.He is actively involved in academic teaching as head of the French Inter-University Diploma in Breast Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgeryat Paris XI Faculty. In addition, he regularly speaks at international congresses and masterclasses, contributing to the training of surgeons worldwide.Dr Sarfati is the co-founder of the Paris Breast Rendez-Vous, one of the foremost international meetings dedicated to aesthetic, reconstructive, and oncologic breast surgery. He is also the founder of the MIB Meeting (Minimally Invasive Breast Meeting), the first international congress entirely devoted to minimally invasive breast surgery techniques.Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr Sarfati is a member of the Scientific Committee of Europa Donna, a European organization promoting breast cancer education, early detection, optimal treatment, and research funding.

Prof. Michail Sorotos completed his Plastic Surgery training in 2016 at the University of Rome Sapienza. He earned a PhD in translational medicine focusing on microsurgery and flap monitoring techniques. He won a research grant examining implant surfaces and their inflammatory response effects, leading to a publication awarded best research paper in 2023 by the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. Currently an Associate Professor at “Sapienza” University of Rome and a consultant at Hospital Sant’Andrea. His main interests are Breast Implant Safety, BIA-ALCL, Breast microsurgical Reconstruction. He has co-authored 80 publications with an h-index of 18 and contributed 10 book chapters and regularly presents his work at major international conferences. He is active in scientific societies such as SICPRE and EURAPS and serves on the editorial boards of various surgical journals, including, as an associate editor, the Journal Case Reports in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery.

Dr. Antonio Toesca holds a leading position at the Candiolo Comprehensive Cancer Center (FPO-IRCCS), Italy, where he serves as Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology Program. He leads a highly specialized and internationally recognized multidisciplinary team dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with breast cancer.
He maintains an active clinical and translational research portfolio and serves as Principal Investigator for the European Robotic Breast Surgery Program and Co-Principal Investigator of the Endoscopic Breast Surgery Program. Dietmar Ulrich has been Director of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery and Full Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical University of Innsbruck (Austria) since November 2025. He also oversees postgraduate training and serves as Head of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the Medical University of Innsbruck. Previously, he served for nearly 14 years as Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc) in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Earlier in his career, he held Associate Professor positions at Erasmus MC Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and RWTH Aachen University of Technology (Germany) and completed a EURAPS-AAPS Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
His clinical expertise focuses on reconstructions of the breast, extremities, and genital regions, as well as aesthetic surgery. At Radboudumc, he founded and led the Plastic Surgery Research & Innovation Lab, with research focused on 3D imaging, augmented reality, surgical planning, and extracorporeal (machine) perfusion technologies in plastic surgery. These research focuses are further developed in the research lab of his department in Innsbruck in collaboration with national and international partners.
He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has received numerous national and international awards. Members of his research group have received multiple awards for their work on augmented reality, including the “Most Cited Original Article of 2024-2025” award from the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS).
Dietmar Ulrich is President-Elect of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS) for 2025 and will assume the presidency in June 2026.

It focus on ex-vivo human skin models based on a distinctive tissue culture, imageanalysis and bioinformation know-how developed during more than 15 years. A collaboration with National Research Council (CNR) Institute for the Dynamics of Environmental Processes (IDPA) (Chemical Analysis Group Venice) was also drawn allowing the obtaining of “FIRB – Innovation in Research” founds, to study the effects of silver on wounds.
