The MIRA! (Minimally Invasive Reconstruction & Aesthetics) Symposium, 11th International Breast Surgery Workshop & 7th World Consensus Conference on BIA-ALCL will take place on May 7–9, 2026, in the beautiful island of Ischia, Italy, at the Auditorium Leonardo Carriero, an iconic venue that combines scientific excellence with Mediterranean elegance.

THE ISLAND OF ISCHIA
Located in the Gulf of Naples, Ischia is one of Italy’s most charming islands, renowned for its natural thermal waters, lush landscapes, and cultural heritage. With a long-standing tradition of hospitality and wellness, Ischia offers the perfect backdrop for high-level scientific exchange and international networking. Ischia is easily accessible from Naples, with regular hydrofoil and ferry connections available from the Port of Naples (Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa).

Step 1 – Arrive in Naples

The nearest airport is Naples International Airport (NAP). From there, participants can reach the port of Naples by taxi (approx. 20–30 minutes).

Step 2 – Ferry or Hydrofoil to Ischia

Step 3 – Transfer to the Hotel

From your arrival port on the island (preferably Casamicciola, which is closest), take a taxi or pre-booked transfer to Hotel Regina Isabella in Lacco Ameno (approx. 10–15 minutes).

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Ischia has a well-connected public transport system primarily operated by EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno). The island is served by a network of buses that run frequently between the main towns and tourist areas, including Ischia Porto, Forio, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno, and Sant’Angelo. Bus tickets must be purchased in advance at newsstands, bars, or ticket machines and validated upon boarding. Both single tickets and daily/weekly passes are available. In addition to buses, taxis and microtaxis (open-air taxis) are widely available, especially around ports and hotels. Car, scooter, and electric bike rentals are also popular and convenient ways to explore the island independently.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
WEATHER
In May, Ischia enjoys mild and pleasant spring weather. Average temperatures range between 18°C and 24°C (64–75°F), making it an ideal time to visit the island.
LIABILITY & INSURANCE
The Congress Secretariat and organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents, loss or damage to private property during the event. Participants are advised to arrange appropriate health and travel insurance in advance.
ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
The electrical system in Italy is 230 Volt (50 Hz).
BANKING
In general, banks in Italy are open from Monday to Friday, typically from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, and again in the afternoon from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
CURRENCY AND CREDIT CARDS
The official currency in Italy is the Euro (€). Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops. However, smaller businesses may prefer cash.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Participants requiring a visa to enter Italy are advised to contact the nearest Italian consulate or embassy well in advance. Invitation letters for visa purposes can be provided by the Organizing Secretariat upon request.
